Introducing, the Presentations Of Learning... We were introduced to the POL's on Monday's class because they will be taking place pretty soon, but the moment they began to mention them, I was already making assumptions. The simple idea of presenting what I learned this semester, within 10 minutes, and in front of an audience was intimidating because of the following: |
We practiced short two-minute presentations on Thursday so we could get feedback on what to improve in the way we speak and deliver our information. After presenting to a group of three, I concluded that I lacked eye contact, which requires more confidence, which I need to gain before the presentation. To be more confident in what you are presenting about, a wide knowledge on the topic is needed, therefore, I will exchange more eye contact with the audience, thus make my presentation much more engaging. Something else my classmates told me I needed was a more energetic voice. Just like with eye contact, having an energetic voice definitely needs a confident speaker. This way, more enthusiasm is portrayed with the presentation. So in order to solve these problems, I must know my topic from head to toe by December, which won't be too hard if I am driven by it. | |
After a long time thinking it through, everything began to make sense, and an overview of the entire semester began getting in my head. Suddenly, i was no longer thinking about what to write, but what not to write. I realized how much things I have learned this semester and was now wondering how I would fit those learnings into just ten minutes, which at first, seemed like a very long time to speak about my progress . |
