Who said advertising a brand was going to be easy?
During IBG for the past weeks, Nikki, Arianna and I decided that we wanted to advertise a small brand, and make it BIG. We immediately targeted the brand we wanted: Nikki's older sister's sweets business--Collette. This business has been existent for the past year, but very few people were aware of it; we wanted to change that. For an entire week we planned all the possible advertising techniques we would use, from social media, to commercials, to posters.

This is where I learned that what we were doing wasn't easy. This is when it hit me: to succeed in this, what I needed was the hedgehog concept. Our entire group had to possess the three traits to reach our GOAL. In order to be the best in the world at what we were doing, we needed to each identify our strengths, and put them into action. |
I was astonished with how each of us recognized our own strengths and eachother's, and immediately put them to work. Creating a complete advertising campaign takes time because it's made up of so many parts, but so far, we are on the right track. From social skills to get followers on Twitter and Instagram, to technology skills for the making of the website. Every component of our campaign requires thought--even the captions for our Instagram photos should be as perfect as they can get. This week I also realized that putting into consideration what calls other's attention before what calls our's, is
ESSENTIAL for this process. Though this is just the beginning, I already feel my knowledge on advertising is increasing incredibly. This kind of marketing has always been one of my interests and I am wanting to study something of this sort more and more every day.
