After meeting with my dad today to discuss the business plan, he showed me all the basic components it needs, which we discussed for a few hours. It wasn't easy at all to make the business plan. Parts of it needed to be elaborated using Excel, and others with Word. I feel like during this time we met I learned so much and began having a MUCH better idea about how running your own business looks like. It's all about planning for the future, sending out good research, making good prediction, and tons of other very important things. While making this plan I couldn't stop thinking about putting this business into the future and how incredible it would be if I were to become successful in the making of Bengal.
Today I was working on the investigate section of my written report, and I remembered something: the PLAN. I had created an initial plan around May which I had been following, but after speaking with Ms. Elwood in June, I had modified it, due to the addition to my goal: the business plan. I had written the plan for my own benefit but decided that in order to follow it more effectively, I had to record it here. The plan for the designing and making of the backpacks hadn't changed since May, and neither had the plan of the commercial, but the new additions were different. BOLD means it was completed, and on time UNDERLINED means it was only completed REGULAR means it hasn't been completed (and maybe won't due to change of plans) BAG MAKING (will be done by end of semester) May 25: Design at least 7 initial designs for my backpacks. May 27: Survey your initial designs to your peers to help you choose which three designs to start with. May 30: Create the three final designs for the backpacks you will begin creating. June 8: Go shopping for cloths with patterns that could be used on the backpacks. June 8: Find a place where they can make the backpacks (based on your specific designs). June 8: Ask the contact making your designs if there is anything else you need to buy for making the backpacks. June 8: Accept any clarifying feedback from the contact on your designs so they can have a more clear idea on how you want the backpacks to be. June 12: Elaborate a logo for my brand: Bengal June 13: Find a place to stamp the logo on a patch so it can be placed on all of the backpacks to represent the brand (make sure to give these patches to the contact so they can place it on the backpack). June 20: Depending on how much the making of the backpack cost overall, I will set a reasonable price for these bags. COMMERCIAL MAKING (will be done at start of semester 1) June 28: Write out the script or planning for the commercial to have an idea about how it will look like and where it will be. August 4: Contact the people that will be required for the making of this commercial (backstage or onstage). August 17: Collect any props or materials needed to create the commercial (backpacks included). August 24: The filming of this commercial will then take place, and it might take more than a day. September 6: I will then edit the video on my computer, and take advantage of this opportunity to learn new skills on editing videos. September 7: Publish the finished commercial on YouTube and expand to my classmates so the brand will become known. BUSINESS PLAN MAKING (will be done during semester 1) August 20: Find and contact expert to help create the business plan. August 27: Meet with expert and get a lesson/help on how to write your own business plan. September 28: Complete the business plan. September 30: Show business plan to the expert and ask for possible feedback. In CONCLUSION, I have completed most tasks, but not all of them on time. This wasn't because of irresponsibility, but because throughout the process I realized that some tasks couldn't be completed by that date because others had to be done first in order to accomplish them. Some are still yet to finish.
